The Society

Spine Society of West Bengal

The Spine Society of West Bengal (SSWB) is a professional body of spine surgeons — both orthopaedic and neurosurgeons — committed to advancing the science, art, and practice of spinal care in eastern India. Founded with the vision of creating a collaborative platform, SSWB brings together practitioners from across West Bengal and neighbouring states.

The society organises its Annual Conference (SSWBCON) each year, which serves as the premier gathering for spine care professionals in the region. SSWBCON features keynote lectures, panel discussions, free paper and poster presentations, live surgical demonstrations, and hands-on cadaveric workshops.

Through its activities, SSWB aims to promote evidence-based spine surgery, encourage young surgeons through mentorship and awards, and foster academic exchange among professionals at all career stages.

Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure and honour to welcome you all to the Annual Conference of the Spine Society of West Bengal — SSWBCON 2026, to be held in the cultural capital of India, Kolkata.

Our society has grown significantly over the years, bringing together orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine specialists under one roof. SSWBCON has become a much-awaited annual event that not only provides a platform for academic exchange but also strengthens the bonds within our spine surgery community.

This year, we have curated an exceptional scientific program featuring keynote lectures from eminent national and international faculty, interactive panel discussions on contemporary spine topics, live surgical demonstrations, and hands-on cadaveric workshops.
